We ask this day that You grant wisdom to the teachers of our children. For the adults who will arguably be the adults who have more influence on our kids than anyone other than their parents and who are with then more waking hours Monday through Friday than any other adult, we thank you for calling them to this noble work. We ask that you give this wisdom, however, not for the sake of themselves but for the students in their charge.
Prepare the hearts of every teacher, every administrator and all of our school staff each day that they might love the children in their charge. Give them joyful hearts to welcome every child, each new day.
Grant to teachers your grace as they help students who aren’t thriving, that through their work the student will thrive. We pray that the students will be better prepared each day for what will come the next day.
Give to teachers courage to say what needs to be said to students, parents, and others who have impact on students. Let them receive from you the tools to say the hard word and the ability to speak love in every circumstance.
And we ask You Lord for strength when our feel weak. We pray for the courage to face each day unafraid regardless of what obstacles may be in their path. When they feel unseen, remind them that what they do does not go unnoticed as the work they do is and always will be greater than themselves.
These dedicated professionals are shaping the future in more numerous and yet incredibly important ways than we can count for our children every day.
We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the gift of learning they
share with our children. We pray Lord that you place within the hearts of all students a love and desire for learning. Help them to see the importance of all they study.
We also pray for ourselves that we may work to insure these servants both love and respect because of their high calling, working and making a difference for our children.
Bless them, Lord, and may they see a glimpse of how their faithfulness to your call will forever make a difference now and for generations to come.
We pray each of these things in your Son’s Holy Name. Amen.
