Last week we took a look at John and Charles’ ancestors, those before his father. The biggest difference we saw was, the Wesley side of the family, Wesley had great-grandparents to study. While I am sure Susanna had grandparents, the line seems to end with her parents. So, today we are going to talk about Susanna’s parents. Today’s post is going to be short. There wasn’t much here to talk about. Somehow, I am thinking this will be the only one like this.
Wesley’s maternal great-grandparents of John & Judith Aneley-grandparents, are present in the story, but all we have are the names. In 1620, They welcomed a son,Samuel Annesley to the family. Like his father before him, he became a pastor among the dissenters against the Church of England. He began reading Scripture at a young age, Later he attended Queen’s College at Oxford.
Samuel Annesley married Mary White. Together they had 25 children. The last of those children was Susanna. She was also her Father’s favorite child. Having 19 children might have made Susanna feel as though she let her family down.
We will pick up here in a couple of weeks when we stop to seem, the fascinating Susanna.. Next week we’ll spend our time on John and Charles’ father, Samuel Wesley.
